Director of Learning/Elementary Principal

Hello! If you are here to meet the elementary principal, I would love to meet you in person! You are officially invited to come into the office to have a cup of coffee.

 

I am in my seventh year of full time administration at Southwest MN Christian Schools. I enjoy guiding faculty and curriculum PK-12, and serve as the building principal at our PK-8 campus. It has been a privilege to serve in a wonderful community and at a school so dedicated to Christian Education.

 

I married Jana (Van Zanten) on June 1, 2013. For the rest of my life, I will be grateful that the Lord planned that day for us. We enjoy our five children, Caleb (9), Abigail (7), Isaac (5), and Nathan (2) and Grace (0) immensely!

 

I grew up in Luverne, MN, and attended ECES & SWMCH (04). I then attended Northwestern College in Orange City, IA and graduated in 2008. I taught 3rd-5th at Hills Christian School (08-10) before teaching at SWC (10-17). While I was teaching at SWC, I also graduated from the University of Sioux Falls with a Master's Degree in Educational Leadership. In 2017, I transitioned to my current role as administrator at Southwest MN Christian Schools. The privilege of serving my alma mater brings purposeful challenge and great reward as our school educates the next generation of Christ's servants.
