Meet Mrs. Sas

Greetings!
I am currently a first grade teacher here at SWC. I have been working within SWC for 12 years in various positions. I started working as a paraprofessional, moved into the resource room and did some shared teaching. This is my fifth year in the first grade room and I love it.

My family lives about 6 miles from Edgerton.  My husband, Eric is self-employed as a farmer. We have 3 children. Ethan, our oldest is in his second year at Lake Area Tech. Our middle son, Caden is a senior. He loves playing sports and hunting. Our youngest, Micah is a freshman. He also enjoys playing sports and helping on the farm.

In my spare time, I enjoy reading, going for walks and hikes, watching my boys play sports and just spending time outside relaxing.

Parents:

This week we will attempt our first full week.  The last two have been great.  The kids are adjusting and learning the schedule well.

Today the Cookie Dough Fundraiser starts.  Please look through the packet with your child.  This is a great fundraiser for our school!

We also did a whole school evacuation drill this morning.  We just practiced leaving the classroom and walking over to our safe place.

A Look At Our Week………………………………………………………………………………………………………………

Reading:  This week we will focus on “What it is like where you live.”  Our skills will be short i, alliteration, key details, double final consonants, and word order in sentences.  On Friday we will take a checkup over the skills we have practiced.

Bible:  We will be learning about Noah and the flood and God’s covenant with him.  We will then go through the story of the Tower of Babel.  We will recite Proverbs 3:5-6 on Friday.

Math:  We will continue working on addition.  We will take our first test this week.  A test occurs after 10 lessons.  After that we will start tally marks, word numbers, and calendar work.  Any extra practice at home counting by 2’s, 5’s, & 10’s would be helpful.

Science:  Finishing up living and nonliving things.  Then we are going to move into what animals need to survive, how do we group animals, and how do animals grow and change.

VoWac:  Learning about short i, ending sounds, blending words, and reviewing consonant sounds.

Reminders:

Library is on Mondays.

Continue reading for the September calendar.

Have a great week!

Trust in the Lord with all your heart

and lean not on your own understanding;

in all your ways acknowledge him,

and he will make your paths straight.

Proverbs 3:5-6

We will recite this on Friday, September 16
